Important Information

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
These protective garments contain pads of cut-retardant material designed to reduce the risk or severity of injury to the body parts covered by the pads in the event of contact with a rotating chain. The fibers in the pads provide extra layers of material and are designed to rip apart if they come into contact with the moving chain and to clog the sprocket and stop the chain in certain circumstances. In some contacts, the pads may stop the chain. In other contacts, the pads will resist the cutting process only for a fraction of a second. The actual degree of protection afforded will vary with the speed of the chain at the time of contact, the power and torque of the saw, the design of the chainsaw sprocket and similar factors. Follow the washing instructions. Improper care may destroy cut-retardant properties of the material.

WARNING FOR ELECTRIC CHAINSAW USERS!
The fibers will not stop the sprocket on most electric chainsaws because of their constant high torque.

Important Information All STIHL chainsaw protective apparel meets or exceeds OSHA Regulation 1910.266 for Personal Protective Equipment for chainsaw operators.
NOTE: Chaps are measured by overall length from the waist down. All chaps have a tough outer shell of oil/water-resistant nylon treated with rain/stain repellent.
WARNING! Improper use of any power tool may cause serious or fatal injury. Read, understand and follow carefully the operating and safety instructions in your instruction manual before using such products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accidents are unpredictable even for the best The wife insists on me wearing these because I can't provide for our family with one leg. I agree with her 100%

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t leave Home without them! Have been cutting wood since 13. I’m 63 and now cut for a hobby! Never would have worn these in my younger days. The chaps protect your legs from briars, limbs and a little softer to kneel if your working a bigger log. Keep you warmer in the cold and don’t notice them in the heat. Keeps my under clothing in better shape. Hope I never have to find out if they “really” work but will never cut without them now that I know all of the other benefits!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The product you hope you don't ever use. I bought these when I upgraded to a 461...ive ran saws since I was 11 years old and never thought I needed them till I saw a very serious chainsaw accident in person. Now I don't cut unless I got them on. They are fairly comfortable and add a level of mental security. Quality seams good stitching is done well. Price is high but you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 6 year review My Pro Mark chaps have held up fine. They use to sell them in camo, which I have, and no problems wearing or using this product. I have been fortunate as I have one cut in each leg of my chaps from my 009. Both times I would have needed a visit to an emergency room and stitches had I not been wearing them. Both times I was cutting in a heaped brush pile with mesquite mixed in with the oak and the thorns distracted me enough when one would poke thru the chaps. Most thorns did not poke thru but I learned my lesson. I use my FS85 with the HT pole pruner to cut in brush piles now. I do wear them every time I cut since I bought them, a great investment I think.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They do what they are supposed to. Second pair, first pair stopped my saw when a branch dropped and pushed the saw down on my leg. Will never use a saw without them, no matter of weather conditions, any one that thinks they are childs play stand a good chance of learning to walk on one leg or worse. Best investment you can make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for me, till I wore a pair I bought a pair of these with the purchase of my 660 mag, the dealer only had the most expensive modle left and my girlfriend rolled her eyes at the cost and my need for them. Then she came to the jon site and seen what I was cutting, and dismissed all cost for these chaps for the safety they provide.I found them easy and very comfy to wear, almost forgetting I had them on. They do get hot for me and couldnt seem to keep cool without some ice packs down my pants.
